Hello! My name is Lex Michelle, the young adult author of the Pages series and undergraduate student attending Kent State University. Through this blog I will be posting consistent updates concerning new improvements coming to my first novel, Into the Pages, as well as post updates concerning the soon-to-be published sequel that is currently in the final stages of the editing process, Within the Bindings. I am hoping that this blog creates a transparency between you and I through which you can step into the world of Enephelysia from the way that I see it.

For my new readers, the Pages series follows the story of Amelia Dreisse, a plain and ordinary teen living in the plain and ordinary world of city life. Longing for an adventure of her own, she soon finds it within the pages of an old and tattered journal, sending her spiraling into a newfound world of magic and royalty and make-believe. With her sudden status, Amelia believes that Enephelysia is the home she was destined to find. However, soon the true colors of the mystical world will show, and love and innocence will slowly reveal their true intentions.

Into the Pages was published on August 13, 2018 and has been read in three countries. I published it soon before starting my freshman year of college and could not have been more excited to finally achieve a dream that I have had since elementary school!

This site will incorporate all the different parts and pieces that make up my writing- from book excerpts and previews, to reader rating and reviews, and plenty of pictures and images sent in from fans like yourselves. Access to all of this content will be available under the subsections created for each book.

Additionally, since this website is also serving as an on-going assignment for my class, I will be incorporating the skills learned through the lectures to create projects. While publication of these projects will occur later this semester, two of the assignments I am most excited to release will be a graphic design and video assignment. Both of these assignments will allow me to create more creative content that goes beyond that of the written word and will bring a more insightful look into the world of the books!

For graphic design, I am planning to create a graphic collage of all of the photos that set the motivation for the Pages series to give a new angle for the storyline. However, it is the video assignment that I am most looking forward to completing. Like was released for Into the Pages, I want to film, edit, and publish a book trailer for the promotion of Within the Bindings. The sequel is action-packed with plenty of twists and turns that tie up the loose ends that were left after the cliff-hanger of book one, and to put the scenes together in snippets to highlight the essence of the finale will be a project that will truly finalize the series.

But of course, no author gathers inspiration for their work without reading and enjoying the work of others. Luckily for me, I was able to find three other young adult authors who share the same passion for writing that I do and actively work to pursue their dreams through their own publications.

First, Brittney Kristina is the young adult author of two novels that I have both read and highly recommend! Her ability to explore the inner mystery that is the mind is nothing short of captivating in her psychological thrillers. Forsaken and Fifty Days are masterpieces that should be at the top of every young-adult readers 2020 list! More about Brittney and her work can be found through her own blog here:

Next, Erin Forbes crafts a beautiful world full of enchanting magic and adventure that captivates the audience. Her beautiful use of language made the Fire and Ice series a delightful read that vividly transports the reader to the imaginative and enthralling universe of Aisling. Erin Forbes will be a talent to watch for as her writing paves the way to inspire a new generation of young authors. More about Erin Forbes can be found through her website:

Lastly, but certainly not least, Helena Brady is an award-winning upstart in the writing community who’s only just beginning. She is the author of five young-adult novels, the first of which was recently published July 31, 2019. The Secrets of the Forest, a young-adult Paranormal Fantasy novel, is an eye-catcher on the shelves that leaves the reader grasping for more from the first page to the last. An epic, suspenseful thriller, Brady perfectly implements twists and turns that keep the reader on their toes. There are big things coming from this young author! As for my own novels, both published and shelved, I can’t wait to share more of the journey with you as the progress begins to unfold itself. Stay tuned for more updates and releases! Until next time…
